Has anybody tried this method, seems to be a good and low cost method to have the Headlamp Len Cleansed.

Anything with grit will work, so toothpaste will work.

I have used this method before with average results. It just never lasts long. I bought a restore kit that worked better but still doesn't last long????

Did you coat the lens with a UV-resistant coating after you sanded / buffed it? You need to coat it or else it will just fade and or yellow again within weeks or months if youre lucky.

For what it's worth, Consumer Reports says the Sylvania Restoration kit works best and lasts the longest.
Listed cost was $21

PlastiX and some elbow grease. Tried and true on numerous cars I owned.

yup what some people have stated PlastiX and buffer. I used a heavy cutting pad with plastix and it comes out brand new. I hit it with plastix once a month to keep its clarity, never thought about using tooth paste though. I wonder how much you need to use. A bottle of PlastiX has lasted me for almost two years.
