Yeah, that's a big difference. Like you, I wouldn't have thought it'd be so great until they're next to each other.

Still have not heard back from Falken on the recommended pressure for the Wildpeaks. So far, tread wear is full width on the front (to be expected, from turning) and 90% width on the rear. So I think 40 psi isn't far off.

Have you tried the chalk test to determine tire pressure?

Well, it snowed again here...a lot. The roads are garbage, and I've been driving around on the stock wheels and all seasons from the GX460 on my GX470 for a few weeks. Bald all seasons in the snow suck, and I honestly don't like driving on these wheels and tires as they look awful.

I got off my *** and ordered new wheels! Going with Tandem Offroad 612 Charlie's in gunmetal, 17x8.5 -12mm, and black tuner lugnuts. They were my 2nd choice, but the SCS ones are always out of stock and 1.5X more money, and I like these ones well enough. I'll put Duratracs on them as they've been great all year around in my experience, likely in 265/70/17, but I'm not fully decided on that yet.

It finally came together, and i didn't buy another set of Duratracs after all!

Got the new wheels and tires mounted and balanced, and on the truck last night. Tandem 612 Charlie's 17x8.5 -12mm with 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeak's.

I had to do some additional trimming of the front bumper corners, and push the fender liners further forward, but it seems to all be playing nice with no more rubbing. They fill out the wheel wells very nicely. Pics are without centercaps, I left them off so I could retorque the lugnuts, I'll snap some with them on this evening.

I actually like them more without the center caps!

The color really suits the body color.

With center caps is good too!

Now that I've put a few miles on them, I have some initial impressions:
-firmer sidewalls than Duratracs, you feel more of the sharp impacts from the road, I had 36psi in them to start, might try dropping that down and see how that feels
-louder on the highway than Duratracs, higher pitched noise at the very least. This might improve as they wear a bit, we'll see.

It was an OEM Lexus accessory, from the dealer. It was on the truck when I bought it, I trashed a few years ago, I never liked it.

Facebook reminded me that it has now been 11 years of GX470 ownership! Purchased with 124K kms, now over 315K! Still doing its thing, probably the best vehicle I've ever owned, even if it isn't my favorite.

[QUOTE=chiph9;11662023]Happy car birthday!

Indeed! Our 04 has over 327k kms and still runs strong and straight. Especially since replacing the timing belt, rad, plugs etc in August. Just wish the paint job would have held up better. Cheers and have enjoy, Ken
