Question Shopping for a GX

Looking for some advice here from all of you willing to help. I'm car shopping and I'm pretty deadset on the GX 470- however, I've got a tough spending limit. Am I crazy for hoping to find a GX in good shape for around $15k/$16k?

Obviously I'd have to look at higher mileage and significant age, would any of you hesitate to buy one with close to 80k to 100k miles? I need a nice SUV for work because I drive a lot of folks around, often through rough terrian (I sell land) - however I'm just getting started(hence the low cash limit) and I've been driving the same car since college.

Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance all!

You should be able to find a few in your price range for MY 2003-04. I am not sure which part of SC your are at, I just picked Columbia and did a search on CarGurus with 200 mile radius for MY 2003 through 2006 (see link below). Also Autotrader, Cars.com and eBay are good resource for your research.

Here are couple of recently completed eBay transactions close to your price range:

Good luck!!

Thanks! That's pretty much what I've been doing, so thinking I've got a shot! Would you hesitate to buy with the higher miles?

I just bought a 2007 GX with 98500 miles 10 days ago, the first owner just did the regular oil changes and replaced the wear items and he said there was never an issue with the truck even though no dealer schedule services were performed. The truck drives so smoothly and couple of repair shops (for fixing door dings) thought the truck was couple of years old, the pipes and parts underneath the chassis all look fairly new. This is such a great testament to how solid these trucks were built. Just for wife's peace of mind, I am sending the truck for a 90K + timing belt, water pump, drive belt service. Hopefully you can find one with 90K service done and water pump replaced, you would be good to go for a while. So to answer your question, as long as the vehicle has been regularly maintained either by dealer or indy shop, I have no problem buying a high mileage GX, these trucks are just rock solid!
