Rear subwoofer blown

The Kicker sub works well. You have to trim the metal molding around the entire unit to make it fit (about a half inch) and you can using heavy plyer cutters. You don't want to leave any air pockets around it or it will sound to crap.

It may very well be powered by the ML amp. I'm not saying that other people haven't done this because lots of people have. All I'm saying is if you ask your factory amp to output double or more of the wattage it was designed to produce it will shorten its life significantly. I wouldn't recommend you do that when an aftermarket amp for the sub is less than $100. Run the line level in from the factory sub to the aftermarket amp for the sub and it won't hurt the ML amp guaranteed.

Just wondering how everything is going with your set up? Is the factory amp still functioning properly with the speakers you replaced?
I'm wondering because I'm doing the same. I first bought 2.3ohm JBLs but then read that they need to be 8ohm or they will fry the amp so I took them back and found some replacement 8ohm 6x9s from Massive Audio for the front doors, put them in and they sound like ****. I turned the bass up all they way and it still sounds tinny and thin. It sounded amazing with the JBLs but because I was worried about frying the amp I settled on a 4ohm pair of alpines that I am going to install this afternoon. I'm assuming it will sound great I just don't want to fry the amp. I feel like this topic has come up a ton but I haven't heard how anyone is fairing with 4ohm replacement components after having them for a while. Any blown amps out there?
