Questions on Buetooth phone/audio install in non-navi 05' GX470
Hi all,
I've decided to install a bluetooth system to my GX, which does not have a factory navigation system.
Originally I was thinking of doing the full 2-din nav system install with rearview cam, etc, but considering that the GX is getting old, I'm going to go for the simpler option. In this light, I hence decided to install a bolt-on bluetooth system to the stock audio system of the GX.
Upon doing some research I found good reviews on the Parrot Bluetooth Hands-free systems.
Has anybody installed one of these systems to a non-navi GX? - How did you feed the audio into the car's audio system?
The Bluetooth system that I am planning on adding is the Parrot MKi9000. This system allows hands-free bluetooth calling, and bluetooth music streaming; this is all I need.
How do I install this? I am a seasoned installer of alarms, keyless entries, remote starts (not on the GX), but I have never done audio-related work, and I know nothing about the non-navi GX audio system.
Does anybody know if I can just purchase a wiring harness that will connect a Parrot system to the non-navi GX directly? The GX has an aux input somewhere (I have not pulled the stereo out) that it uses to stream audio from the rear dvd entertainment system, and I am thinking that I can use that input to hook up the Parrot.
Can anybody provide input on this installation, wiring, and words on the Parrot system?
When I do the install I will post full pics and all for reference.
Thanks!
OA
