A few weeks ago I posted a question about a squeak in my '07 GX that was driving me crazy. After trying several good suggestions, none of which worked, I finally took it to the dealer. He kept it half a day, gave me a loaner, put a stethoscope on it and isolated the problem. It was a bent air bag suspension clip. Charged me $185.00.
The car is whisper quiet and I feel it was worth it as I never would have discovered the problem on my own. Wanted to let others know in case they have a similar problem. Also wanted some feedback on the cost.
Wasn't cheap but I felt it was fair for the time and work involved plus they actually fixed it.
Thanks.

Aah finally that sound irritant has been solved. But where is this clip located, maybe if you post some picture for educational purpose to other members it would be good.

Thanks for the feedback. It's always helpful when someone follows up with the diagnosis and fix.
BTW I would say that your dealer charge was fairly cheap. It's hard to out of any dealer for less than $200 these days IMO.
Here is a pic of the air bag clip for reference - part 48958 on both air bags - top outside of airbag.
I wonder how this would have become bent ?

Thanks, guys. The folks at Lexus were scratching their heads over the bent pin as well. The car has not been wrecked, was a one owner (dentist) who never went off road. In fact this car was about ten hours from me but I bought it because it was so clean. Anyway, the mystery is solved and it has greatly enhanced my motoring experience so to me it was worth the money. Like most things I guess it's relative. Must say my experience with the Lexus dealer in Jackson, Mississippi was a pleasant surprise.
Cheers.
Cheers.
