2006 GX470 SRS light on when engine hot-off when cold
I have a 2006 GX 470 with 130,000 miles on it. Recently, when driving on long trips I have noticed that the SRS bag light will come on after we stop after driving for a while.
To be a little clearer, the car will start normally when cold, all dash lights will go through their sequencing and turn off. We will drive for a distance which will be long enough to heat everything up, say to the mall or a restaurant. When we return to the car and I start it all lights go thru their sequencing and the SRS light stays on. Next morning, after the car has cooled, everything is normal again. Lexus says it is the 89170-60241 sensor assembly that is $489.26 plus $310.95 in labor to replace. While I have owned the car I have successfully replaced the air suspension rear sensors and all the O2 sensors and recently did an engine swap with my son on his Toyota Supra so I think I can handle the repair.
Has anyone else had this issue??
Where is the sensor located and how is it accessed??
Is the same part in a Tundra?
Thanks for any input.

I doubt it is the sensor, all you need is a wire harness below the driver seat to be replaced. There was a TSB to this affect 2005-2009 model. If you need a copy of the instruction for the removal and refit, mail me your email id. Will have that sent.
