Can you just install new front caliper dust boots?
After doing a brake rotor change, noticed that the dust boots on the piston is ripped about 1 cm. Otherwise the brakes work fine.
Could I just change the dust boot without taking out the piston/caliper with the air compressor?

you should be able to.
on many vehicles there is just a snap/retaining ring holding that boot there, and you can replace it with the piston(s) recessed in their bore. all you would need to do would be remove the caliper from its mount.
