Default 2003 gx470

hey i have a 2003 lexus gx470 that i just got from a friend i am wondering what the 4 wheel drive lever is suppose to be in for normal driving is it suppose to be in H for high N for nuetral or L for low i asked my friend who i got it from and he didnt even know. also the Lexus has about 320.000 miles on it my friend basically just gave me it its fully loaded and all im wondering if i should just keep it for a while or get rid of it before problems start coming in never owned one before so idk how long they could last

WOW 320K impressive. You want to keep the Lever in H all the time.

H = High - Regular Driving
L = Low - For use when you need low end torque (ie. You are pulling someone out of the ditch)
N = Neutral - You won't move

Keep it!

You got it for nothing... what do you have to lose?

I would drive it for a bit as well, if you got it cheap then it doesn't owe you anything. They are very comfy trucks.

thanks guys! never owned a 4 wheel drive before so this helps alot i probably will keep it for a while have some fun with it lol

Yor GX is "All Wheel Drive" all the time, really no need to ever do anything but drive it no matter what the weather is! They are a beast

I have a 2004 gx470. I am interested in why there is a neutral I know why there is Low and also High But the neutral is ?? for what purpose. Is it there so you can shift to high or low by always having to pass through neutral .
