Hello,

I currently own an IS F and I'm in the market for a first-gen GX. Do you have any recommendations on what to look for or what to watch out for on a used first-gen GX?

Are there any components that typically break or wear out first?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I've never owned a SUV with 4 wheel drive.

-cracked dash
-check out the suspension, mainly the shocks and ride height sensors
-if it has a ML system check for blow speakers
-maintenance history

Ticking (leaking) exhaust manifolds
Possible severe undercarriage rust
Pitted wheels
Seized brake calipers

Funny, I was reading RC's and Crispy3m's posts and I have experienced everything but the cracked dash in their lists. Now that being said, I love my truck and would recommend one to a friend. Considering the reliability of the engine, transmission and drivetrain, I'll take the small list of anticipated repairs. Try finding a GX in a salvage yard, it's impossible.

I had to replace the rad on mine, which I've read a few other people running into that issue as well. Otherwise the list above is pretty comprehensive.
