You will get a hundred opinions on oil changes, depends on the oil, a good synthetic such as Amsoil's signature series is 15,000 miles or one hear whichever comes first with a synthetic filter which also has the same limits. Mobile 1 has a similar products with the same intervals. Regular dino oil according to Lexus schedule is 5000 miles.

I've been doing 8,000kms using a good full synthetic oil, it looks like you could push it longer when you drain it. Maybe I'll get around to sending a sample to be tested and see what they say.

Do not forget the quality of the oil filter. A cheap, badly built oil filter will FAIL well before the oil stops working well. People tend to forget about the filter and how important it is.
If the filter collapses or disintegrates (cheap paper), your engine will be at much higher risk than running 10-12k miles old oil.

Use good quality oil filters (Mobil, Amsoil, PureOne, etc). The few extra $$ are really worth it.

My 2 cents...

Oh, and to answer your original question, i change my oil every 7,500 miles. I use Mobil 1 synthetic oil.

I use Mobil 1 synthetic every 10000 mile. I 've done that 3 times under my ownership.

There ya go, that's two votes on the same interval with the same oil and filter. Been doing that with the truck for 10 years and 140K...never even have to add any oil between changes. Truck runs like new.

I though that you don't want to use full synthetic oil unless the car been using it since new, is that right ? It had 89K when I bought it last year, and I use Toyota OEM oil filter. This is my first lexus so appreciate on all the input you guys give

I believe that theory went out the door ages ago--with todays engines you will be fine--I have amsoil in my Diffs and transfer case as well.

As Alen553 said I have been using amsoil 1/year intervals since I had my 99 4-runner and when I got my brand new 08 GX amsoil went immediately in it as well--I have yet to add any oil between oil changes. Just make sure if you are going to do yearly with amsoil USE their filter as well--its up to the task as well.

I believe Mobile 1 oil filter and royal purple are also 15,000 mile synthetic filters too, probably all made by the same manufacturer

SERVICE LIFE
AMSOIL Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil is recommended for extended drain intervals in unmodified(1), mechanically sound(2) gasoline-fueled vehicles as follows:

Normal Service(3) – Up to 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first.
Severe Service(4) – Up to 15,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first.

(3) Personal vehicles frequently traveling greater than 10 miles (16 km) at a time and not operating under severe service.

(4) Turbo/supercharged engines, commercial or fleet vehicles, excessive idling, vehicles with more than 100,000 miles without prior continuous use of AMSOIL motor oil, daily short-trip driving less than 10 miles (16 km), frequent towing, plowing, hauling or dusty condition driving.

Using a synthetic oil won't cause a leak but it will expose leaky seals that were already there. If you switch and noticed a leak, switch back to a dino oil.

i have heard that somewhere, but seals are not forever, and a leak is a leak..synthetic or regular oil will get through it. I have been using synthetics for over 20 years in new and used cars and motorcycles....never had a leak other than valve cover gaskets. Put synthtic oil in a 20 year old motorcycle i just picked up.. valve covers were leaking before...and they leaked after.
