I just came from my local dealership to spec a GX470. I tried to order the Blue Meridian Pearl with Dark Charcoal Interior and he said it wasn't possible.

Can anyone confirm this.

Funny thing... I just picked up my GX this weekend. Fully loaded. Guess what? Blue Meridian Pearl with charcoal interior. It is a beautiful combination. There are not a lot of these being made though so maybe your dealer tried to steer you towards a more common combo. IMHO, it would be worth the wait.

www.lexus.com should tell you the combinations you can and cant get..

I did and told the dealer that I was able to configure the GX with the color combo. He basically told me it doesn't mean anything.

I just came back from my dealer tonight and finally got a "We can order, but it will take 3-6 months and we would want to change your refundable deposit to non-refundable since we are ordering you a vehicle to your spec".


Also, he showed me a sheet of paper of a breakdown by percentage on what color combo Lexus is making and showed that none (zero) are being made with the Blue Meridian and Charcoal combo. I don't know where he got that sheet, but it didn't look legitimate to me.

Man, I ordered an M3 to my spec and didn't go through this much hassle.

Can someone help out and check with their dealer. My wife is pretty much set on the color combo.

The only combo not available is Dorado Gold with Charcoal. Although some combos are much more popular (i.e. Metallic Pine/Ivory) your dealer is full of it.

Rather than picking another combo, I'd pick another dealer.

I called another dealer and will know by tomorrow. I agree, I'm not going to deal with this dealership. I'm starting to get annoyed with them.

I went by the dealership to get my deposit back and told the salesdrone that I was going to buy the vehicle at another dealership because of the ridiculous 3-6 month wait on the Blue/Charcoal combo and converting my refundable to non-refundable. I told them to screw them*****.

Anyway, I got home and my wife told me the Salesmanager called to say there was a misunderstanding about the wait, it was only 3-6 weeks, not months (yeah right). That's after I told the salesdrone that I was getting the vehicle mid to end of march with their competitor...

What's the 800 number to Lexus so I can give them the feedback.

I also call them when things go well - its only fair! I changed dealers too cause my original (Lexus of Manhattan) was clueless and now I drive 40 miles further cause DiFeo Lexus does it right. And I told both sides of that story to -25LEXUS and they were very appreciative. I think they really want to keep the Lexus Brand untarnished.
