Gear Oil Question
#16
I bought 7 bottles of Mobil Synthetic gear lube with LS (limited slip) LS 75W 90 bit messy job, so there was some spill.
I USED THE SAME OIL ON FRONT DIFF, REAR DIFF, AND TRANSFER CASE. 2004 GX. (RC OR mann777, AM I OK DOING THIS?)
Check out MANN777 link, he covers front and back diff. The transfer case is not included in the link but very easy to do.

I looked on ebay for $200, I think its just too much to spend to swap the plastic button. I hope someone has defective unit and just can swap the button,

You dont need to replace the switch if the wordings on the plastic button are faded. All you need is Carbo stencil ink. To apply clean the surface of the letters which are inscribed and completed remove the letter. Cover the switches around with Tape, and spray on the letter inscribed on the switches. And clean with a Micro fibre cloth only only once, The ink fills into the letters and wait for 15 minutes.
Or
Another way take a stencil cut of the image and get the printing guys give you the Screen print ink seal which just on a gloosy paper, Get to your truck, get the area cleaned well and all the old stains and letters, and stick this glossy paper on the switch on the exact locationa and give a hard press for 10 minutes and then wait for another 15 minutes to dry. It is as good as new.

You amaze me with your knowledge, participation and ideas.
I saw the link posted and read what you wrote, I will give it a shot once I fully understand your post. If not, I saw a person selling now the complete ac panel control unit for $125. Still too much, since I only need a button, and its sad other 5 buttons are being sold by the lexus dealer for $5. Its a shame the only button they are not selling which I ruined it by cleaning from harsh chemical. I was even considering buying it swapping it out and selling back on ebay with a faded button disclosed by photo on the listing. However, I guess no one will buy it since it is not a common failure on GX.
