If I have extended warranty (100k) - should I do the timing belt/water pump at 90?
Hi everyone,
I have an extended warranty on my GX and was wondering about the timing belt/water pump. I figured if it goes out before 100k the warranty would cover it - right???
Don't expect anything to go wrong before then anyway but you never know.
thanks for the comments!

I think you might want to read the fine print in the extended warranty. Most extended warranties have lots of it, and I think that most people who have purchased an extended warranty would be surprised to find how much is excluded from coverage in their warranty.
Since the timing belt is considered to be a scheduled maintenance item, I agree that it is very unlikely that it would be covered, if at all, beyond the point where it is scheduled to be replaced. The water pump might be covered, but, again, you need to read the fine print. Often, in extended warranties, their terms only cover some of the parts and labor even in a so-called "covered" repair. I would also doubt that any other repairs needed that are caused by or related to a failed timing belt would be covered.
