Yep makes a huge difference. I took the easy route and had a shop do a full detail on my GX a few weeks back. The paint is as smooth as a mirror after the claying and it looks great! Don't forget the little scratches under the door handles.

Clay & wax ? What else did you do between the clay & wax? Did you polish & seal before waxing?

Even if the paint is in "good" condition you still need to do a polish of some sort in between the clay & wax in order to make it pop, e.g. Meguiar's 205 or Meguiars Cleaner Wax #6. What color is your GX?

My GX is ash mica gray/blue and I plan on going with the "GOOD CONDITION" in the chart below.

My process when the weather gets better:
1. fine grit clay bar
2. re-wash after clay
3.Cleaner Wax/polish
4.3M Ultra Fina-SE Finishing polish
5. Seal
6. Meguiar's #26 hard paste wax

Try 'SALTING' !
It's a great way to remove that waxy buildup. The salt eats the old wax right off the truck while you watch.
See it working it's magic?
OH NO! Now it's eating the paint! Make it stop! Make it stop!
