Timing belt changing procedures different for VVTi vs non-VVTi?
So I did a bit of searching on this, couldn't find a definitive answer, and figured it could help here since some of our GXs have VVT-i while others don't.
A Friend of mine just picked up a 2006 Tundra crewcab with the VVT-i version of the 2UZ-FE. Its just a hair under 100k, and from what I could tell when looking at the trucks history, and under the hood, there isn't any apparent evidence I could see that the belt or water pump has ever been changed.
I figured I could probably give him a hand using the factory manual for my GX, since it is the same engine, but being that mine is an 04, it doesn't have the Variable Valve Timing like his does.
Now, I'm curious if anyone happens to know if there is anything different about the belt changing procedure between the two variants. Does anything have to be done different because of the Cam actuators?
