Default how to add tow hitch?

what part do I need to bolt to the underneath for allow me to tow? I need the female square part/receiver? Do I have to buy an entire unit that spans the width of the vehicle or is there a bolt on section?

There's a pintle type hitch and a frame mounted hitch. If it's minor stuff such as a bike, cargo carrier etc. get a pintle. If you're going to be towing a trailer, boat etc. get a frame mounted hitch.

Pintle:

thank you! I guess there is nothing that simply bolts to that factory part underneath? Like the pintle but lower so you don't have to change the center cover.

RCsGX, great mods. does your gx sit higher because of the larger tires alone or do you have a lift as well?

I don't think so but don't quote me on that.

The tires themselves are about an 1" taller than the stock tires. With the coilovers I'm an additional 2.5" taller than a stock GX....so my GX is about 3.5" taller vs. a stock GX.

Thanks, it looks great by the way. Also, regardless of a pintle or an entire unit, does the plug underneath work as well or does something need to be hooked up?

If you have the 7-pin plug, you should be good to go. But verify that the relay block under the hood (next to the fuse block) has both relays in it. I think I saw that someone only had one for some reason.

There are 3 towing relays.

2 are next to the fuse box by the battery.

The other relay is behind the interior drivers side rear quarter panel...in back of the tail light.

If you have the transmission cooler in front of your radiator you have the tow package which should include all of the relays.

Before buying any hitch, ask yourself what are you needing it for? That will dictate which type of hitch to buy.
