Lexus/Toyota recommends 5000 mile intervals, my Toyota Dealer told me when I got the truck change the oil every 5000 miles then I go back and they tell me no don't do that change it every 3000 miles

They offer regular oil changes for 23 bucks every 3000 miles and synthetic oil changes for 55 bucks every 6000 miles, woohoo big deal pay twice as much go twice as long, wow what a savings.

Their 15k service is 230bucks and the 30k service is 470.

What if any do some of you recommend, as far as oil change intervals and major stuff that involves draining and flushing.

Basically what do you plan on doing when the time comes

I do it every 3k. I really hate the fact that they've changed the maint schedules...I know 3k works...part of the change I'm sure is reasonable to believe that improvements in technology and components used require less maintenance, but part of it (the part that bothers me) is that manufacturers can include services for free as part of the deal, and it doesn't eat into the service profits so much.
