UPS just brought the spoiler from www.irontoad.com. IT"S GREAT!!!!! Genuine Lexus with the cover plate for the third brake light for $423 and change delivered to the door. That's only $27 more than spoilerdepot.com aftermarket w/o the cover plate. I think this on is a plastic version and spoilerdepot was fiberglass. Now I just need some time this weekend to install.

Default Spoiler installation

Hi, Kbach,
Do you think it's easy to install the spoiler? Does it require to drill holes?

andiamo,

If Kbach's kit ts the same as the one from Toyota parts, it should come with detailed instructions. I did the install on one from Toyota parts and it is relatively easy and YES you have to drill holes - 5 total with the largest being 17mm If you are ssomewhat machanically inclined, it shouldn't be a problem to install it yourself.

The instructions look really detailed with good templates included. I don't think it going to be too difficult to install. I'll be buying a couple new drill bits for this installation, so I'm sure the holes will be true.

I'm soooo glad I got the OEM spoiler from irontoad. It installed very easy, and looks great. The biggest problem I had was trying to locate metric drill bits. Never did get them, but got cross referenced to numbered bits that were close. Comparing the spoiler from spoilerdepot.com to the OEM, I don't think the aftermarket one would have install nearly as easy. They didn't include any layout templates, and they had you drill completely through the rear door to bolt it down. I also think the spoilerdepot.com one was designed a little different, not a factory match.

K,

Finally everything worked out for ya. Glad to hear that. Sounds like it installed as easy as mine. You're right, teh instructions are very clear. The only reservation I had was drilling 5 holes in perfectly good, factory paint & body, but oh well, thats that price we pay to mod.
