Loud "failing pump" noise coming from rear left area
Over the last few weeks I've been hearing what sounds like a failing pump of some sort when shutting off my '06 GX470. The sound lingers for just a moment after the ignition is cut off, and sounds like a loud, very fast tatatatatatatata. It doesn't always do this - sometimes I don't hear anything. I've been commuting in the GX for four years and I've only been hearing this intermittent occurrence over the last 3-5 weeks.
Any thoughts on what this might be? Fuel pump? Air leveling suspension pump?

Roll down your window then shut the engine off (stay inside). Can you hear the pump run?
Now step out. Does the pump run? And then shut off?
If it doesn't for #1 but does for #2, that's normal - it's the pump adjusting to the removal of your weight from the vehicle.
However, if the pump is noticeable louder than before, it could be on it's last legs. Find another GX of similar age and listen to what theirs sounds like.
