Closest Lexus stealership is 2hrs away and my DAC bulb burnt out.
After reading this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...ight-bulb.html
I liked the idea, but wished it was LED instead. Rummaging through my electronics pile, I forgot that I had ordered a couple hundred white 3mm LEDs years ago for some forgotten project, so it was time to put one to good use.
After removing the switch and bulb, I then disassembled it and used a 330 ohm resistor on the back of the plastic bulb holder. Here is a shot of the old incandescent removed, and the new LED in place:
I then wrapped the resistor around the LED leg and the plastic location where one leg of the old bulb went:
Here you can see the resistor on the outside of the bulb holder:
Wish I had some SMT 330 ohm resistors instead of this big 1/4 watt.
Of course, I had the polarity wrong (I had a 50/50 chance) so I had to turn the bulb/LED 180 degrees to get it to work:
It is definitely more blue than green, but I think I like it. If the wife complains, I guess I'll just have to convert the rest of them so they at least match.
