I know this post is almost 2 years old, just wondering if it's still working? That is also if you are still around. I did check the Amazon link in your post but that cam is no longer available. I'm guessing there are other's that will work with 6volt. Thanks in advance.

I did basically the same thing. Threw away the old cam and replaced it with a cheap universal of similar spec. Glued it into the old housing cover and voila. Same result - still working years later and no more lines.
