CDL engages without any issues on pavement. Light turns on solid and it engages.
May be its tied to Vehicle stability control which off course is smart and senses the conditions.
Just my thought not confirmed...
I don't think CDL needs to be locked when 4lo is engaged. If it does even with DAC than CDL light wasn't ON.....

The long and the short of it is, there's no good reason DAC won't work on pavement surfaces, but there's zero reason to do this in a high-traction situation.

It's been a long while since I had our GX in low range, maybe it's just my Land Cruiser that automatically locks the center diff when shifted to low range(pin 7 mod did away with this) and the GX still requires the CDL button to be pressed.
The long and the short of it is, there's no good reason DAC won't work on pavement surfaces, but there's zero reason to do this in a high-traction situation.
