Default GX470 Transmission OIL replace

I had my 2003 GX470 with 93Kmiles transmission oil gear replaced/serviced from Lexus Dealership. Per dealer's standard they vacuumed/drained the old oil and top-fill with a new tranny oil. My question to the group is after driving for about 18 miles, work to home, I checked/touched the bottom pan of the tranny and it is a little bit warm, but not hot. Is this natural since I never touched the bottom pan when the original oil was in place?

Yes, this is normal. The transmission fluid gets warm under normal operation. The fluid is cycled out of the transmission through a cooler and then back so it can maintain temperature within a normal range.

You may have a transmission cooler, if you have the towing prep package. Open the hood and look for a small radiator near the horns.

Completely normal. It wont be hot like the oil pan though, if it ever does get that hot you will have already fried your transmission.

Yes, I checked the hood and confirmed that a small radiator/condenser exists just below the horn. Thanks much

Also, as a Lexus loyal customer, the dealership replaced the dashboard of my GX470 last month. I brought to the dealership attention last December 2015 due to the constant humidity presence during winter plus a hairline crack just above the instrument panel. Now it has a brand new panel at going to 95Kmiles, and as an exchange for the service, I requested them for a transmission oil flush for $230. Life is just give and take..

All automatic transmissions have coolers, towing package or not. They're typically in the radiatior. Trucks with towing packages may have auxiliary coolers plumbed in addition to a radiator based cooler.

It's a recall. They're sending notices no matter where you service the truck.

It's not a Recall. It's a Enhanced Warranty Campaign.

Correct. A recall would mean they're replacing all of them (government gets involved, etc). They're just replacing the ones that have cracked as a warranty extension for this part alone.
