KYBs would be fine, might just be a bit stiffer ride.

You need to disconnect the fuse under the dash and the relay under the hood. I had to research it to find it. It may be in a post of mine if that helps.

There was no error message or light that went off when I disconnected the factory rear shocks from the wire harness and replaced them with the non-adjustable, conventional shocks.
If you swap out the rear air bags for conventional steel springs, I believe in that situation you will get a warning light. but not when you just swap out the shocks.

Your fine. Error happens with the air spring delete and even that is easily fixed.

Ordered the oem 4Runner shocks from Toyota of Dallas for 47$ each and brake pads for all 04 corners and spark plugs. Didn't do much maintenance ever since bought this truck.
