Default 2003 GX470 Center Hub replacement

Hi! 2 brief questions: 1: Can you buy the "L's" for the center hubs? My rims were refinished and they cannot locate the "L's" that went to the center hubs and as a result i have 4 beautifully finished center hubs/rims but missing L's on each. Question 2: If the L's cannot be replace, I need to buy 4 new center caps with L's. In that event, how do I remove the center hubs from the rims? I have heard flat head screwdrivers, pry bars, taking off wheel and "popping them out from the back." Any ideas? I have googled all over but only found ads selling, no instructional advice. I apologize if this has been commented on but I was unable to locate anything specific to my 2003 GX 470. Thank you.

Safest way to remove the centercaps without damaging anything is to remove the wheel and pop them off from the backside.

Thank you for your prompt response. I had hoped there was an easier way without removing all 4 wheels but I guess not. Also, do you know where I can purchase just the L's? Thanks!

There is a slot in the side of the center caps to set a flat head in and pry/pop the hub out...just wrap some tape around it where it leverages against your new wheel. No need to take wheel off.

I have the chrome wheels and one of my "L"s is missing. Since this was a regional part (US only) it's not in the Lexus part system, so your best option is eBay or a parts yard. When I last looked, they were in the $80 range, and you couldn't buy just the "L" you had to buy the entire cap.

But you may be able to buy the caps for the regular painted wheels and transfer over the L. They're about $50 online:

Thanks Chip. In searching Ebay, I found someone who actually had just the L's. He had put 3M adhesive on the backs and I purchased them and they so far have worked fine! Only cost me about $20 for the set of 4 L's. Happy Holidays!

I have a 2004 GX470 that I recently bought and the wheels have some corrosion on them. Can I ask how much you paid to get them refinished?
