Guys, I just got a GX470 2007. I'm still learning everything about it So far I have ordered techstream and a key from 1010 keys.
I just noticed something really annoying. When I have passenger the "Airbag On" light always stays on when someone is in the passenger seat??? It is very bright and almost blinding at night when you look at it. It's bright orange! Is there any way to turn this setting off? It seems silly that it would light up "airbag ON" and always stay lit...
Just to clarify, no airbag light is on at the cluster, the light goes on inn front of the passenger seat on the dashboard and says "Airbag On" when a passenger is in the seat

That just seems so silly, it's bright orange and completely distracts for everything. That light will stay on the whole time huh? Is there a setting to turn it off. It would make sense for a light to go on when something is WRONG, not when it's all good... It's also bright orange and right in front of you. I'm surprised this hasn't bothered anyone?

I would also think it's because someone replaced the bulb.
If you do replace the bulb (again?) and it's still too bright, look at one of the taillight "smoke" sprays. You probably want one that sprays inside the lens, so the outside stays smooth & clean. How much to spray on? No clue. But you'll want to use multiple thin layers until you reach your desired brightness.

You might want check the brightness level of the instrument cluster. But i am not sure if it connected to that.
If its really bright than just take a little piece of Black Electric Tape and put on that little area...
It will definitely solve the problem.. LOL.

Haha thanks guys. I thought about doing the electric tape thing. Just seems silly that t would be on by default. I noticed it when I sat in the passenger seat lol. Wanted to make sure there wasn't a way to turn this "feature" off with the techstream. Thanks guys!

My wife had the same reaction as you when we bought our 2006 GX new 10 years ago. Wanted to put tape over the light, etc. Didn't notice it after a week. Think you just get used to it.
