Rear gate door light issue
Hi,
I have a 2005 GX 470. Whenever I start driving or give it some extra gas, the rear tailgate dome light turns up indicating the door is open and once I slow down it will go away. it also indicate in the dash that some door is open. I tried pushing in the little sensor needle on the door in and out many times but that did not help. Is or did anyone ever experience it? are there any fix to it?
Please help me out.

Had the same issue. Make sure everything is tight first of all. I hit that circle hook with a sledge hammer to push it in just slightly and it went off. Have not had an issue since. A Lexus tech told me that trick FYI.

That one that is bolted to the body by the drivers side tail light. Not the rear swing gate. Its the thing that the swing gate locks on to.

Just go to the dealer and ask for the rear hatch switch, it wasn't a real expensive part, after shipping you'd be no further ahead sourcing online I would think.

You could just glue a rubber disk to where the switch push rod contacts the door that would tale up any slack and that might be the fix

Mine did this when I first bought it. There's no need to spend a bunch of money...
The actual door pin switch is on the driver's side by the taillight. It has a black round rubber cover over it. Now look on the door and you will see the round spot where the switch contacts the door. Stick several layers of a thick tape there, such as electrical tape or duct tape. Problem solved.
