Does it get worse at different speeds? Only reason I mention was I had the same type of issue on my RX300 POS and it turned out to be bad rotors.

Brake pad build up on rotor would only vibrate when applying the brakes?

Try Road Force Balance for the tires.

Hey - I was looking up something else and found this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...igh-miler.html May not be the same as yours since you said it started after getting new tires. Another issue with yours could be a bad tire I guess...

Default Steering Shake

I recently purchased Goodyear all terrain tires for my 03 GX. I too noticed it had a very bad shake in the steering wheel and you could feel it in the front of the car. I brought it back to the goodyear place to have them check the balance of the tires. They did and said they were balanced. I ended up bringing it to another tire place and they said the tires were not balanced and said they were able to almost get them fully balanced, but were not able to because the rims that are on the GX have a cone shape and you need a special tool to put them on the balancing machine. They recommended I go to the dealership and get them balanced fully, which I did and the shake was much better afterwards. Still had a small, but noticeable shake though.

I researched more and more and there are so many things that can cause it. I ended up getting new CV axles and replacing my front shocks. After that the shake is pretty much gone. Still get a tiny bit at high speed, but with bigger all terrains you will probably always get a little shake at high speeds.

I just bought my GX in December of last year and plan on doing little by little to it as I go. Its tough with 2 small kids and work, but I am trying to do what I can. Air bag to coil spring conversion is in the near future because I have a pretty bad air bag leak which makes the ride in the rear very shaky and bouncy. Plus, if I leave the height control in the normal setting when I turn the car off, by the time I go to get back in the next day it has completely dropped in the rear and I have to wait for the bags to refill after starting. I have found that if I leave it in the high position it stays there.

I will definitely try that steering fluid drain and replace though because I can hear my power steering pump on start up. Could be older, dirty fluid causing the pump to work harder. Vehicle has 155k miles and no telling if they ever flushed out the fluid completely and replaced it.
