Default Dashboard making noises?

I have a 2004 GX470 and today my dash started making strange noises regardless if car is moving, in gear, lights on or not. It's like a ticking noise almost. So annoying, anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Is it coming from the passenger footwell area? Could be a A/C blend door motor starting to go.

Sounds more like it's coming from the dash area. Sounds like a clock ticking down the seconds but sometimes it speeds up and sometimes slows down as it just started yesterday. It doesn't sound like any fans as i hear it with ac/heat unit off also. It's just so annoying.

I had this same thing happen to me yesterday afternoon. Weird clicking type noise that sounded like it came from behind the center dash area but did not go away when I shut the HVAC or Radio off. It didn't sound like the normal loud predictable GM blend door sound, but the sound did change/go away when I cycled the temperature up to max heat and back down to cold a couple times. We'll see how long it lasts but it did help me isolate the issue and remedy the problem for the time being.

From what I have read and have heard it sound like the problem is one of the servo motors is on the fritz. They control the air flow as far as I understand. Ugh

Yeah, I've been searching through threads this morning, because lord knows mine is sure to fail soon lol I'm not lucky enough for my "calibration" to solve the issue. It looks like there are two behind the glove box and one of them controls the temp, which is what I would assume is the root of my problemo. I guess I'll plan on replacing both when the time comes.

Anyone else have any great insight or recommendation?

Thanks,
Cole

If you have any pics of where they are behind glove box or DIY I would love to see it along with part numbers, thanks

Sorry I know this isn’t a thread for my model apologies in advance. I have a 2008 RX350 and my car is making this weird ticking noise kinda like a quiet typewriter along with a noise that sound like a low squeaky toy 😳 it stops for bout 5 secs and goes again. It does it the whole time I’m driving and parked. I have tried shutting off my AC and it still continues.

Try changing the blower to switch to footwell only or blended face and feet or defroster and see if the clicking changes or stops (for a while). I have the same thing and it is the servo motors malfunctioning. I remember reading somewhere (I think a thread on this board) that there is a way to remove the servo's and clean the contacts and it fixes the problem.
