Spoiler Integrity
I have looked all through the forum and haven't been able to find an answer to my question. Is the spoiler attached to the rear door a solid attachment or does it have some "give" to it? If I put pressure forward or back, I can rock it maybe a 1/4"+. I am worried about going through a car wash as I am not sure if it is a little loose. It appears that my GX's previous life was a that of a soccer mom taxi, so maybe the spoiler has been pulled on and loose? TIA.

Mine has a little give also; perhaps a quarter to half inch, but I can tell that mine has problems from the previous owners. It appears there are two connection points each on the left and right but it appears that only the top (main) points are connected on mine and the lower spot seems to have been broken free. Is this repairable? I haven't looked too closely but it almost looks like the fastener has been pulled through its hole? If it's not repairable, would Gorilla Glue do the trick?

I needed to take the rear door panel off to replace a backup light bulb, so while I was at it I removed the 2 Spoiler mounting bolts. Looks like there should have been 2 snaps and some double-stick adhesive providing additional support, but the snaps pulled out of the plastic and are still stuck into the door. The adhesive is slightly loose, but holding. When I have more time, I'll try to reinforce the attachment points.

The snaps are exactly what I see with mine! I am not able (or haven't tried) to lift mine away as far as your pics show, but those white caps are what I have exposed too. I don't see any of the worn adhesive strips I see on yours though. I wonder if those are from a previous repair attempt? I might take a closer look tomorrow. As Booyah says, it does seem to be okay with some give, and I don't worry about it falling off, but I'd feel a little better if it was more solidly in place.

I took my spoiler completely off to see what was going on. Each side had 3 strips of double stick tape and only the top one was actually holding. In the photo, I've already scraped the stickies off. You can also see the off-white squares where the plastic caps riveted to the door are supposed to catch. Originally, there were two of those thin bands on each that hooked over the cap. Both latches have one band missing meaning they are not holding anything. The broken bands are at the bottom of the spoiler mount indicating it was likely pushed upward to break them. I originally thought that since this was a soccer-mom's GX prior to my purchase, that the kids might have used the spoiler as a handle, but if that were the case the UPPER bands would have broken. Looking at the back of the spoiler, there are some scratches that could indicate it was either backed into something or was too close to the garage door as it was raising. Going to use some heavy-duty double-stick tape in FOUR places, and probably load up those clip receptacles with epoxy and slap it all back together.
