Unhappy gx470 mark levinson no sound

just got me a 2006 gx470 with the nav and the mark levinson, the sound comes on and off whenever it wants to also the xm radio is not working when i use to cycle through the am button to get to the xm screen (the button only says "am" not "am-sat", the nav sounds still work and the beeps work even shows the volume going up but no sound. ive taken the dash apart and noticed the vaistech module in the back with the xm unit on the right hand side where the pocket where the airbag is . i tried to push in all connector i can find back there and still no sound, then i went under the drivers seat to unplug the amp and plug it back in still nothing, ive checked both radio fused nothing, finally i unplugged the battery overnight and still no sound. then randomly when i was getting out of work the sound is back i was happy maybe it had fixed its self, then when i went home and turned the car off i turned it back on to double check sound is out again, i am at a dead end i am hoping others had same issues as me i do not want to buy a new amp i just purchased this vehicle an love it hopefully there is a solution thanks

Default Amp?

Most people will probably jump at saying it's the amp but if it is cutting in and out, I would suggest (depending on the local reputation) that you take this to Best Buy and have them look at it.

Much cheaper than sending to Lexus for review and they will probably find out much cheaper.

Back when Fast and Furious was a thing I had a buddy that was getting a shirt in his head unit that would cut out his headlights. Best Buy guys figured out the issue in 15-20 minutes. My buddy fought it for almost three months and never got answers.

I think I have the same problem. Everything seems to work when I turn the radio on except the volume **** does nothing. The display still reads zero when turned. Could you be more specific? How do I identify this unit and when you say "plugged everything back in the sound is back", what do you mean? Did you replace the unit? If so where did you buy it and how much? Also how do you get the front off? I have a 2007 GX470. Thanks. I was told that a new radio would cost $1000 + !!!!!!
