i agree, the cost of the higher octance is partially offset by the the increase in MPG in my experience.

I wont get better than 14mpg lol.. trust me. my commutes are 85% City / 15% Freeway. The stop n go is what kills my MPG and pushing all the extra steel im carrying + bigger rubber without regear (dont really need it yet for 33") doesnt help.

My best MPG average was still 18.5 MPG with the current setup but 100% highway.
Reason for using 87 vs 91? Because why not? My RPM never goes above 3K (usually shifting at 2k anyways) so the added benefit isnt really there for me. Even when i wheel the RPM only stays between 2-3k and the cost for 91 here in the bay area is already $3.90 at Costco. If you want to fill up at Shell or Chevron youre looking at $4.25-4.35 per gallon. Bay Area prices are brutal man

I'll put premium in for in-town driving, but when I'm making distance on the interstates I'll just use regular as I'm not running over 2500 rpm.
$2.699 for Costco premium yesterday in North Carolina.
California, with it's special fuel requirements, really sticks it to the consumer.

You guys are over $4.00 fro premium?!?!?
here in north Louisiana we are just hitting $2.40 for premium. We have been under $2.00 for years. So people are *****ing about $2.40. Crazy that there’s that much of a difference.

We can still get ethanol free gas here for $2.19.... although it’s great for boats and mowers... I’m not so sure it would do to well in the GX... the no ethanol speeds the burn up even faster. It’s good for the fuel system... but I believe it would knock if the vehicle was pushed over 3,000 rpms.
