Modern cars are essentially rolling computers, and as such they need good clean power. Think about replacing your battery every 3 years to avoid problems.

Chip Is Right, The actual FACTORY batteries last 5 to 7 years but the dealer and factory are 2 different parts sometimes also! I buy the Yellow top Optimas, never had 1 go out on me yet.

My battery suddenly died yesterday at a parking lot. I had gotten it replaced 2 years ago at a Toyota dealership and paid extra for it thinking it might be a better quality compared to the rest. Being a Sunday evening and needing a quick replacement, went to Autozone and purchased Duralast Gold with 5 years free replacement. Sucks that the old battery lasted so short.
