Default rear cargo door won't close

Rear cargo door won't stay closed. The latch on the door seems operational, but won't catch and stay closed when I shut the door.

Any thoughts?

It's possible the latch has flipped to the "closed" position, but you say you've already had a look at it and it seems fine. I'd use a screwdriver or something and cycle the latch back and forth a few times manually, give it a squirt of lubricant as you're working it back and forth. And obviously, make sure there's nothing in the way of the door closing completely.

While WD-40 is a great product, there are MUCH better products to use on locks, locking mechanisms and such. Better to use a dry lubricant that is designed for such use.

...

1. Latch is already closed. Just look at it to tell.

2. Latching mechanism is broke inside door. Can easily tell by prying latch with screwdriver open and closed. If it doesn't hold closed, this is why.

3. Latch on door frame needs to be loosened and repositioned. They have some adjustability if you loosen and retighten it.
