Navigation warning screen on start up
Hello all. New member although have owned our 03 GX since new. Has been wife's driver till this weekend when I bought her a 17 GX. The 03 is now my driver. We are now a 2 GX household. She never complained but I don't care for the Nav warning screen at start up. Any fixes to bypass or make it automatically "Continue" rather than having to press the button? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

I hated that screen! I have a 07 and all I did was upgrade to the newest nav disc, and no more Warning. I bought a bootlegged DVD off of eBay, first disc was a no go, seller sent out a 2nd DVD and I’ve been good to go since. I”m not sure if your year will allow the same as they have upgraded nav systems, but it’s worth some research.

All newer Toyota/Lexus have that warning screen turn off after a short time and go straight to normal screen. Not sure if alternate DVD's will help for '03 models but I will research. Thanks for the input.

I wasn’t sure if it would work on my 07, but $40 was worth the gamble. I had read that others had success by updating. The Nav differences might just be screens, so maybe it will work on your 03. Good Luck

Then I have to research the speed sensing lockout of most nav functions. I know there's been lots discussed about solutions so have my work cut out. Appreciate the help.

That's all good info. Nice that I was actually a stereo and alarm installer in a previous life! Looks like I'll be tearing it up! Just ordered a kit to integrate with existing system for bluetooth hands free and streaming. Been decades but will be interesting. Thanks you yet again Tdoll.

The VAISTech modules (Bluetooth/USB) will auto-agree to the "lawyer screen" for you.

Really? Oh crap. I ordered and have already gotten shipping info from Grom on a kit for Bluetooth/USB so I can have hands free phone and streaming functions. I can't assume that is part of their functions. I'll have to check into both and at worst would have to return my purchase. Thanks chiph9!

Try calling their support people - it may have that function, but it's just not advertised.
The problem with the VAISTech (and it might not actually be them) is that if you go into reverse immediately after starting the car, the "MiniDisc" track bar covers up part of the backup camera image -- the most useful part, actually. So ... trade-offs. {shrug}

It's understandable that when trying to introduce new tech to old tech, things won't quite be as they are in newer systems. Despite some shortcomings, I was spoiled with much of the smartphone integration in a Toyota with Entune for past 3 years. Went and traded that for a '17 GX for my wife and took as my daily driver her '03 GX. Clearly I'll miss some of the tech I've had lately but looking at various systems to make it close. Thanks again Chip.
