Default Gauge cluster problem + dead RPM gauge

Hi all,

I’ve been having an issue with my gauge cluster for a few years, and my RPM gauge is dead 85% of the time and it’s very frustrating.

Has this issue ever occurred to anyone and what was the fix? In the event that this is a bad stepper motor on my RPM gauge (which I doubt because I believe the issue is related to the flickering seen in the video when I start vehicle), has anybody attempted to DIY replace a stepper motor in the cluster? Thanks!

The strange part is watching the gas gauge jump up to half there towards the end. Yeah, there's something odd there.
See if there's a speedometer shop in your area - No idea if any of them are left from the era of mechanical dials, but can't hurt to talk to them about a repair.

Hey - so I had some LED's on my gauge cluster go out and I used this guy (Justin) and he is the best. He can repair anything. Since you're in Florida, you will have to mail it in to him. Other option is to buy a new one and get someone like a lexus or toyota dealer transfer mileage and stuff to the new cluster.

I owned a shop for years, not claiming to be a know it all, I would say it's not the cluster but where the cluster is receiving it's info from. I would research if it is the main ECU/computer find the harnesses, disconnect both battery terminals and look at the harnesses for corrosion and clean them either with CRC spray, or (people are going to think I am crazy! I was tested and let out!) Coffee attacks electrical corrosion like insane! Use a toothbrush to assist.
