Default Alexg - paint

A couple of us have had problems with the paint on the plastic front end and door surrounds. The clear coat is peeling a little on mine. I have it in the shop right now getting fixed. It's sand dollar pearl too. Other than that, I have one rock chip in the front end that pisses me off. I bought some of the touch up paint that is advertise on the Club Lexus home page, but haven't used it yet. If I was you, I'd go to the car wash, hit the bumper with the high pressure wand, and go to the dealer for some warranty repainting.

We had the 3M stonecal put on our Blue Meridian Pearl GX and so far we are pleased with it. We also have a 99 Acura CL and it is black, when we bought it we opted not to haev any sort of protection applied. big mistake, the hood looks like salt and pepper was spilled all over it. I know that the quality of Lexus paint is so much better than that of our Acura, but due to the amount of highway driving we do, we decided to have the Stonecal put on. We are very pleased with it so far, we even negoiated the price of it down about 200 dollars. The only complaint we have is on the lower front bumper there are indentations near the license plate and they stretched the stuff over them as opposed to pushing them down in the indentations, it is very noticible and the dealer agreed to reapply it. This stuff really does keep the paint looking nice, we had it on our blue volvo wagon (before the GX) and there were very few, if any chips on the front end of the car.

Default 3M plastic covers

To MJMeucci,

I also have the same color as yours and I'm also thinking of putting a plastic cover on my front bumper. The place where you got your cover was really cheap, I'm in California, and I wonder if you could give me their phone# or the internet site. Thanks.
