Default Q in Sports Pack/KDSS - does this make normal maintenance more expensive?

Hi all

I am getting keen on a Sports Pack/KDSS GX470 but I am wondering if the system makes other maintenance more expensive / harder (getting to the diffs, transfer case, oil filters)

Looking for pointers from people who have the package or were seriously considering it

The trucks I'm looking at are 2005 & 2006 models with 140k - 156k miles with decent but not complete service records (timing belts done) and NO service histories on the KDSS

Thanks in advance!

never had my KDSS service and im sitting at ~140k miles. Maintenance wise, everything is easy to accomplish. I am lifted and that is where you will run into problems if you decided to go that route.

If you plan on keeping it as a road car, then it's supposed to be great. If you want to lift and add sliders, it can cause issues.

Is there a maintenance interval on the system's hydraulic fluid?
I'm guessing it's like power steering fluid - change it around the time you do a timing belt (it'll be super dark by then)

I haven't heard of any maintenance interval. Most of the dealership don't even have the right equipment to flush the system, at least not here in Sacramento. I am actually not running my rear KDSS sway bar so if the system does go bad, I may just rip it out all together.

You can turn off the KDSS?

Default How did you turn off the KDSS?

I am wondering how did you turn off the KDSS? Also, why did you turn it off? Was there an issue and what was it. I have KDSS and really wonder how you would take the bar off and put on the non-kdss bar? Is it just a bolt on?

I haven't disabled my KDSS. When I lifted my vehicle, the KDSS rear sway bar was limiting the lift. The rear passenger stabilizer link (that connects to the KDSS Sway) isn't a hydraulic link like the driver side so it wont allow the proper extension. There haven't been anything made to address the issue yet, at least not the rear. The front KDSS sway bar is fine, however, there is the known KDSS lean which causes my passenger side to sit about .5 inches higher. I haven't looked into replacing the rear sway with a non-KDSS bar. To be honest, I haven't noticed much different with the rear off.
