05 GX470 VSC, Anti Skid, CEL, with codes?
The VSC, Anti Skid, and CEL were on after driving some, just bought the vehicle and it runs great and have no issues though. I've had it 3 days, I went to have them checked and the codes were gas pedal sensor, transmission something, some air sensor, master brake sensor, and one other I can't remember. The guy said that didn't seem right and reset them for me and it hasn't come back on. I have no issues driving, no issues braking, just plain and simple no issues! I've googled quite a bit and read it can be the gas cap for the lights, would that also throw the faulty codes too? Thank you! I'm new to the Lexus family! Had to snag this after loving my 4runner so much!

The gas cap seems to throw some really odd error codes. Given the age of your GX, and how cheap a replacement cap is (~$30) I would go ahead and swap it. Drive it a couple of days to let the light(s) clear, then see if the codes are still on.
If you didn't get the full maintenance records with your vehicle, consider changing all the fluids so that you're at zero miles/zero years on them.

The gas cap code will likely be P04-something evap leak.
Every time you have a CEL, it will disable VSC and trigger all of the VSC/TRAC lights. That is normal and to be expected with any OBDII fault.

Haven’t got a cap replaced yet about to order one. Had the codes reset and the lights came on again when driving a couple days later and it acted like it was jerky and wanted to die. I stomped on the gas and it was fine after. Did it go into limp mode or something? Gonna have the codes printed off today

Don’t have codes yet, vehicle shut down completely when driving, didn’t want to turn over at all. Then when jumped would run for a few then die. Got it going again and was driving and it acted like it wanted to die, floored it and it ran normal. The car lot reset the battery and the lights went off but now the windows don’t work. Sigh this sucks I love this vehicle but this is nerve racking

It is normal for the three other windows to not work from the master switch after the battery has been disconnected. You'll find that your sunroof will not auto open/close anymore either. There is a simple re-learn procedure that has to be done if your battery is disconnected: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...-or-reset.html

So I’m picking the car up today, the guy at the lot said he rechecked the battery and the cables were loose enough to move by hand so he tightened them up and has not had a problem since.
the car had a dead battery, then when jumped would run for a bit then die, and kept dying. He put the new battery in but I guess didn’t tighten it correctly and it kept dying. Does this sound like it makes sense? I’ve read a low battery or dead one can overwork the alternator causing the car to mis or die.

Got the car back no codes or cel light, car died several times when slowly driving 5-10 mph. Also had a bad mis when first starting up from a stop. Mis went away when driving

That is not normal. What's your battery voltage when the vehicle is running and when it's off?
