AC on passenger side only.
I have 218000 miles on my 2008 GX470. Noticed this morning while driving that I get AC through the passenger vents, however it feels like outside air is coming through the driver side vents - neither warm or cold. All summer it's been ice cold. I tried setting the temp to LO, turn dual temp off/on, set to recirculate mode, turned AC off/on, and restarting the engine without success. Any ideas as to what is causing this problem?

Run the A/C diagnostics to see if it's one of the actuators.

Chances are good that one or more of the blend door actuators have gone bad.
If the diagnostics pass, take it by an auto A/C specialist (or the dealer) to have the refrigerant level checked. DO NOT just add a can from the car parts shop. Modern A/C systems are sensitive to the amount of charge in them.

My code returned 00. So I'm guessing a leak has developed -- after turning the AC off and on several times, with the AC on, the air coming out of the driver's side vents is slightly cooler than when the AC is off. I'm also noticing a mildew like smell as well. I will schedule an appointment with my Lexus dealer to have it checked out.

Given the age of these vehicles now, it's probably not a "leak-leak" but just time taking it's toll. I had to get mine topped up last year.

So my Lexus dealer recharged and put die in the system to trace the leak. They could not find the leak. They told me to come back when it runs out. My guess is that it will be awhile before I’m back at the dealer. They charged me $235.
