Trade 2008 RX350 for 2006 GX470

Be prepared for a big drop in fuel economy. The GX has a thirsty V8 and weighs a lot more and has full time 4WD. Expect low teens in the city, high teens on the highway.
The driving experience will be different as well (I assume you've test driven it). Body-on-frame means no chance of sports-car like handling..
I don't mean to sound like I'm trying to convince you not to buy it - there will be some negatives. But there are some advantages - the GX is a more exclusive vehicle since fewer people were willing to pay the higher cost. And you'll have a vehicle that can pretty much go anywhere, anytime.

It seems like the GX470's (one Owner Vehicles) are more popular than ever, so if you do come across something you really like, pull the trigger. I do not have an RX, but i drove it on multiple occasions, it's no sports car so i don't think you should worry too much about the driving dynamics (GX does drive like a truck), quality wise i think GX 470 is far better, I like it even more than the GX 460.
If MPG is an issue you can always buy a cheaper car for commute.
I bought a 2008 GX470 some months back and have been very happy with it so far (replaced Radiator), it does drive like a truck but i am amazed with it's build quality , still looks and drives good for a 10 yr old vehicle, just make sure you check Carfax/Lexus owners site for the service history.

I passed on a low mile one owner 06 because paint match issues and unsure of how damaged it really had been.Sold day after I saw it. Missed on a second one, sold off lot before I could get pictures though it was 1300 miles away. I agree with the if you see it and like/want it pull the trigger because it will be gone soon.

It must have been meant to be when we bought ours a few weeks ago! It was listed from a private seller for $8k and I negotiated to $6600. It has all the records which are traced back to the original dealer and through the second owner. I only had to put 4 clips in the running boards, replace a brake light bulb and it has the elusive little chirp in one of the pulleys but outside of that I feel like it was a SMOKING deal. The MPG really doesn't bother me because it a little better than my Tundra which is full Mid-Travel with beadlocks and 37's. If you find one that's worthy you better snag it because outside of the wrangler its probably the most sought after trail rig on the market. And the aftermarket is constantly growing for them!
