04 GX470 Rear View Camera Broken - System check, camera = ok, audio h/u chek.
I just ran a system check and the camera is good but it says audio h/u chek. What does this mean?
When I reverse, I get the "Check Surroundings For Safety" message on the bottom of the screen, but apart from that screen is black.

Dumb question - there's no junk or tape covering up the camera lens?
My unsubstantiated guess is the wire has separated inside the rubber boot on the cargo door from the years of opening/closing it.
To troubleshoot further you would either need an oscilloscope to monitor the signal, or a known-good camera to plug into the video processor.

Driver School Candidate
I believe there was a recall on 2004 GX470s for the back up camera. I have a 2005 with nav, and mine quit working. Better off getting an aftermarket with a screen or the rearview mirror.
