Default What’s this noise?

Bought a 2005 GX470 a few weeks ago, day after This noise started. Off and on, only when at idle, usually when car is cold. Advice, please?
My last car was a GM and it took me years to recover from north star engine hell.

I caught it on video while idling in Park

thanks original video was too big to upload. This is only a few seconds, but you can hear the noise. Let me know if it’s enough to judge.

I'm not sure if I'm hearing what you're hearing, are you able to describe it at all?

while in idle either in park or with foot on the break, there is an occasional vibrating that you can physically feel and hear coming from underneath the passenger side front floor area. I’ll upload more of the clip.

I heard a thump about 3/4 of the way through - was that it?

Ok.

Check for a loose exhaust heat shield. Since you live in a rust-prone area, sometimes the studs holding them on rust away and they fall down.

i agree with this. My 07 rattled like hell. I finally looked under the vehicle and the exhaust heat shield fell onto the exhaust.
