Default Code P1442

Jist had the transmission fluid changed, oil changed, transfer case and differential fluids changed, new spark plugs, battery and battery plugs/terminals. All fine until yesterday...check engine, VCS light and traction light on now. Code reader reflects P1442. Place that did work said it happens sometimes after service is done...cleared the code...it came back on today. They said if the code returns it’s like a $1,700 fix. Any experience or thoughts? Thanks!

You may want to consider the secondary AIP bypass kit.

Hmmmm....
It could very well be a bad valve.

But dont consider anything yet till the problem is diagnosed correctly.
New plugs were installed i see.
First check the vacuum hoses between the throttle body and VSV for air injection control.
Make sure they are secured and didnt get knocked of during the tune up job.
It's located by the passenger side bank 2 injector rail under the engine cover. (around that area)
Very easy to get to.
There should be 2 hoses attached per VSV.
Hopefully this is just your problem.
If not, get a full diagnosis from a reputable shop.

I have an 05 GX and getting ready to do plugs as well.
