Default New spark plugs

took my time (3hrs.) discovered the throttle body intake hose was really folded under, installed poorly, lower part of hose not even under the clamp and the air filter gasket was rumpled for 3in., and then condenser fan hardly spins at all, rotates but super slow, that's not right? maybe why my a/c blows 55 degrees?

The plugs could have been original NGK 169k, clearly showing some wear but still working far as I

could tell anyway glad their switched out.

Glad to see, you used Denso. With your maintenance, you should see better performance/MPGs, judging by them plugs

I do run E089-91 and 640:1 TC-W3 (2 stroke oil) in every tank since I bought it 3000mi. ago. the plugs are in order with the denso representing the front of engine.

I did mine last Friday on our 2005. It has just under 180k miles and the plugs that came out look very similar to yours (also NGK, probably original). I also switched to Denso. Idles much smoother and feels like it has a little more get up and go! Super easy to change on the GX

Why are you running a 2 stroke oil mixture(even 640:1) on a GX470??

I understand running a fuel lubricant if you own a classic car that was built to run on “leaded fuel”... but your GX was built 3 decades after the switch to “unleaded fuels”...

I’ve been working on cars for 25 years professionally... all I see a 2–stroke motor oil doing is causing even more carbon issues in vehicles these days.

Please.. let me know your reasoning behind this(I’m not being a smart ***... just curious)???

Yeah, I thought it was interesting too, but I wonder if it has to do with the Ethanol mixture he runs in it, unless that just means he runs 89 or 91 octane (where Ethanol is always mixed into the gas)

no, I run E0-89 or 91 depending on price..and the TC-W3 goes in all my 4strokes 640:1 or 1oz. per 5gal keeps everything clean and lubed...here's a piston pic of my '07
Rubicon after 10yrs, on the TC-W3 mix... it really cleans up especially on legacy engines like a 4.7..look at my plug thread after 3k in a GX/

BTW the reason the motor was torn down was because of soft lifters (known issue) so it wasn't
running right, neverless the pics clearly show a remarkable clean piston and ring area.

I completely understand running it in a small engine... 4-wheelers, older boats, lawn mowers, and such.
Although I see this as more of a conditioner for the fuel lines and such.
Those pics don’t really tell me anything other than your 4-wheeler is running like it should.

But pull the cylinder head off the GX... then flip it over and look at the valves... I just don’t see the benefit. I actually see an adverse effect... but at 640:1, not much of an effect at all.

But if it makes you you feel better and you believe it works... that’s all that really matters.

Thanks for the explanation as to why you run it though.
