Default Anyone installed the Tornado Air device?

They claim to improve gas mileage with the simple installation of this thing. And there is one that fits the GX-470. Check out their website www.tornadoair.com

Thumbs down

Save your money, The eyewitness news investigation team did a big story on these a few months back here in MN. They tested them and a lot of other things like the magnets on the fuel lines ect. They tested the velocity air intake system and tornado mod, plus different air filters, some of the foam oiled air filters performed the best and stock was next with kn comming in poorly after oil getting sucked up in MAF sensor ruining them. Also kn let the most dirt particals past resulting in contamination in the oil samples tested. The conclusion was most of these things are not worthy of wasting your $$$. Some of the air filters actually made it seem like more power by the less restricted air flow and made more noise over the stock but did not filter as well as the stock filter. If you want more power or fuel milage you must start flashing the chip in the computer but gete kind of expensive until you hit the right combo.

Fenderman,

Been discussed many times here before, try using the search for 'tornado' to find out what other folks had to say (or you can take the short answer which is "it's BS" ).

Thanks for the info guys, I have two of those things on order!! Fell for the hype in the C&D magazine ad! I will be promptly returning them for a refund. I guess the old rule holds firm "If it sounds too good to be true........" I'm just trying to keep an eye out for something to wring more fuel mileage and hp out. I heard K and N is working on a cold air intake for the GX-470, maybe that's the ticket.
