I know the gx 470 is legendary, but how long will it last before repairs make it not worth it. Saw an 04 yesterday with supposedly all mtce done “on time “ and many updates; brakes ,ties, radiator, timing chain etc. 256k on the clock. No visible rust. Thoughts anyone?

 

I see you're in Minnesota? Rust will be what makes it not worth it, not keeping up with maintenance IMO.

 

Rust is the killer.

I'm going to be putting about $3k in repairs into mine this year (air bags, timing belt, 4x4 service) and it's still way better than having a car payment ($800-$900 monthly on a new GX460)

This one doesn’t seem to be rusty at all. Did I mention they are asking $6400? Heck the tires and work described is at least half of that. Might have to look closer
