Hello,
I am looking at a 2009 GX470 with 60k miles at a local dealer. Very clean, new tires. No timing belt/water pump replacement done yet. 1 owner. Dealer asking $21900. I would appreciate thoughts on price. Thanks very much in advance!

There's a local dealer selling a 2011 GX 460 Premium with 99,000 miles for $22,700.
Yours needs a timing belt service (it's aged-out, as it has to be done every 90k or 7 years). 1 owner is nice. Hopefully not too much rust, and hopefully there are maintenance docs. What they're asking is about 7-8k too high, IMO.

Thanks for the replies. I am struggling to find a method for determining appropriate price to pay. KBB, Nada, ? I will try to attach nada sheet. Any advice or input is much appreciated. Happy I found this forum!

Decide what you're willing to pay and what you think is an appropriate market price for you area. Offer them that. And when they don't take it (because they won't), leave your phone number and say "I'm looking at similar models online, but I'd rather buy locally if I can. Call me before Thursday, as that's when I'm making my decision."
If they call you back, and if they're anywhere close to what you offered, start negotiating. If you get to where neither of you will move on price, start asking for things they can add on: Pre-paid maintenance. Trailer hitch. Window tinting. New floor mats, etc.
If they call you back and they aren't anywhere near your price, say "Thanks for the call, but that's not where I want to be on price." and reiterate what you told them.

I would rather buy a GX460 for that amount of money or spend less and get a GX470 with more miles on it.
60k miles is low but the car is still old and aged. If you don't drive a car or put very low miles(like 1k per year) on it, you still need to change oil at least once a year, if you know what I mean.
