Broke her in today. Pretty sure this is the first time she’s been off pavement.

Default Mechanical issues

I am purchasing a 06 470. 225000. One owner. well maintained. Having it checked at mechanic next week. What are some areas that need to be checked that might be overlooked by the mechanic?

I think the only out-of-the-norm things I would check are to make sure the center differential lock works and to make sure there aren’t any broken valve cover bolts along with a leaking valve cover. Ask check the sunroof is working if that’s something you care about. Non working sunroof is probably an issue with the tracks and won’t be a cheap fix.

I knew getting into this specific GX that the brakes needed some work. While I was upgrading the suspension I decided to get 4 new (remanufactured) calipers, 4 new rotors, Hawk pads. Lots of guys went with GX460 calipers as an upgrade, looking at the difference in the dimensions of the pistons, I decided messing with the ABS, ATRAC and stability control wasn’t for me. ACDelco has a good reputation for remanufactured calipers and I was not disappointed. Every caliper came with brand new pistons. Suspension upgrades included Bilstein 6112’s, Bilstein 5160’s, OME 2895 rear springs and FJ bump stops. Also got some General Grabber ATX’s.

Rides great on the freeway and good roads. Haven’t had a chance to take it out on much dirt just yet. I was a fan of the 6112/5160 combo on my old rig (Tacoma) on dirt.
